Dr. Baru has been a member of several committees in the field of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, including Chairman of the John H. Stroger Hospital Bioethics Committee. He has also contributed to several medical publications, as well as reviewing for the Society of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Baru is extensively involved in the curriculum development of hospice and palliative medicine. He has also recently received the 2010 Teaching Award from Rush Medical College.
