Free Fast-Track Home Study Course Upgrade through August 31, 2012

8 AUDIO CDS: Learn by listening to my step-by-step instructions on exactly what to do on the patient interview, on the presentation to the examiners, and on the written and video vignettes. Listen in your car as many times as you wish to these CDs without taking any additional time out of your day.

10 VIDEO DVDS: View these DVDs on your TV or computer. Eight of the DVDs demonstrate real CAP Oral Board candidates participating in realistic mock exams just weeks prior to their exams (four adolescent patient mock exams and four vignette mock-exams). Two additional DVDs demonstrate a board-certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist interviewing real teen patients to provide you a model of the exam interview style.

5 WRITTEN MANUALS: Review this proprietary written reference material on exam techniques. Read the step-by-step instructions covering every conceivable aspect of the exam performance. (These are the transcripts of the audio CDs with additional study material included.)

Live Course Day 1: The "Boot Camp" Day

Join us for this highly interactive skill-building day practicing the most challenging exam skills under Dr. Krasuski's direct supervision. This is just a sample of all the skills you master during this high-intensity day.

THERAPEUTIC ENGAGEMENT SKILLS: You learn how to engage patients therapeutically, even defiant, disorganized, or mute ones. If you do not master this skill, nothing else matters. Examiners are extremely sensitive to your approach to the "Physician-Patient Relationship," the first scoring category.

PSYCHOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING SKILLS: You learn both to understand myriad aspects of the patient's psychological function, a favorite area of examiner questions, as well as justify the most sensible psychotherapy for the patient.

INTERVIEW MAPPING SKILLS: You learn to maintain a disciplined, well-paced 30-minute interview that is mapped out according to Dr. Krasuski's mapping system so that you take notes that actually guide your interview and presentation, that permit you to keep on time, and that make missing important informational areas nearly impossible.

PRESENTATION SYSTEM SKILLS: You learn how to organize your case presentation, formulation (that you need to know in to two different formats), the differential diagnosis, and the management plan according to rule-based systems that virtually guide you into the correct presentation approach. Using Dr. Krasuski's systems makes it actually more difficult to present incorrectly than it is to present in the most effective way.

VIDEO OBSERVATION & PRESENTATION SKILLS: You learn the most common mistakes to avoid in the video clip observation and learn the system that permits you to anticipate each of the examiner's questions - yes, they tend to follow a standard template.

VIGNETTE ANALYSIS & PRESENTATION SKILLS: You learn how to analyze the vignette at the time you are reading it so that you extract all the pertinent details. You also learn the little tricks the vignette writers use to trip-up the unsuspecting candidate. Then, as in the video clip, you learn how to anticipate the examiner questions.

Live Course Days 2-4: The Three Mock Exam Days

MOCK EXAM TRAINING DAYS: Immediately following the Boot Camp Day, you stay and participate in 3 additional days of realistic mock-exam training under our expert faculty's guidance. Gain exposure to a variety of adolescent patients as well as pre-school and school age video clips and written vignettes. Every vignette, video clip and patient is different. Note a new course improvement - we now have both the adolescent mock exams and the vignette mock-exams running all day every day. So if you are only interested in preparing for only one exam section, you will be actively learning all day long!

RECEIVE TWO MOCK-EXAMS OF YOUR CHOICE: You may take one adolescent patient interview mock-exam AND one vignette mock-exam OR you may wish to take two of each. It is your option. The adolescent patient interview mock exam is 75 minutes in length and the vignette mock-exam is 90 minutes in length. Oral and written feedback is provided during the included 15-minute feedback session.

So rather than preparing for your exam alone as best you can, why not make a modest investment in your career (that's fully guaranteed) and prepare with the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Part 2 Prep Course?

I hope you decide to join us! You won't regret it.
